Dr Charles BeckDr Charles (Charlie) Beck, D.O., F.A.A.O. graduated from the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine (now the University of Pikeville) in 2004. Under the tutelage of renowned osteopathic physician Dr Edward G. Stiles, D.O., F.A.A.O., Charlie was given an excellent foundation for learning manipulative medicine.

Charlie has continued to stand out among his peers. His unique gift for combining different schools of thought into a coherent treatment pattern has patients flying in from abroad to Indiana to receive treatment. Although he has been teaching ALF principles with the Osteopathic Cranial Academy for nearly ten years, his journey in ALF treatment began 3.5 years ago when he obtained his first ALF and began studying his body to identify the changes taking place while using it.

He realised at the time, that no training was covering what was happening in the body and the head in any significant detail. If teeth are moved, subtle changes can occur to eye function. If a patient’s posture is altered, or the cranium is osteopathically treated, the alignment and balance of the teeth can change.

From these revelations Charlie has been able to elucidate the many connections between the body and the mouth that were not previously taught. These findings have become a “road map” of connections that allows the osteopath and dentist to collaborate with each other.

This relationship provides a detailed plan of what needs to happen to correct the located issue. It also helps remove the guesswork from treatment for both the dentist and the osteopath.

Dr Beck has gone on to teach courses and give presentations in the United States for the American Academy of Osteopathy, the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, the Indiana Academy of Osteopathy, and numerous medical schools.

He has also taught in Canada, Japan, Eastern and Western Europe as well as in Australia and New Zealand, where he works yearly as a locum osteopath. He is also a published author and researcher in the field of craniodental osteopathy.

He is currently the president of the Indiana Academy of Osteopathy and a member and lecturer of the ALF InterFACE Academy.

His learning deepens by working with others, and he regularly searches for the commonalities between different practitioners and healing styles.
This approach has allowed him to bring together osteopathy with dentistry. In so doing he provides a unique perspective on patient illness and injury. He continues to strive to integrate this learning into principles that are easily taught to others. His primary practice is in Indianapolis, IN. USA.
